Job Summary

Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following state healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, physical condition, and response to medications or treatments
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, mobility, and hygiene support
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status or behavior promptly to nursing staff or supervisors
- Support residents with specialized care needs including Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice, and tube feeding
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records and personal information
- Perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary for resident mobility or transfers
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing, or medication administration via tubes or injections
- Participate in ongoing training on first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and emergency response protocols
Experience
- Prior experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease is advantageous
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like AxisCare for accurate medical documentation
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Knowledge of state Board of Nursing requirements for medication administration and caregiving standards
- Hands-on experience in assisted living or senior living facility environments is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining resident safety and comfort
