Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly and professional host or hostess to join our team at Vinology. We are a fine dining establishment in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, featuring a full bar with over 150 wines, multiple event spaces, and a from-scratch kitchen utilizing locally farmed, seasonal ingredients. As a host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and will provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive guest experience. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and have a passion for delivering outstanding guest services.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests upon arrival and provide a warm welcome
- Assist guests with check-in and seating procedures
- Provide information about restaurant amenities, booking policies, and private event spaces
- Make reservations for guests including detail to make their visit special and memorable
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally
- Maintain a neat and organized front desk area
- Collaborate with other restaurant staff to ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing email
- Will ensure all menus are up to date, printed, and verified by management before the beginning of each service
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and guest relations is desirable
