Overview

  The Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) Clinician will provide comprehensive community-based emergency mental health and substance use disorder services to individuals and families in crisis. The Clinician will be available to provide interventions in the community (clients' homes, school, and other community based settings), or at the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) site by client or family request. The MCI Clinician is tasked with ensuring timely response to calls/requests for assessment and intervention and will coordinate with other CBHC services to ensure continuity of care and appropriate level of care/placement. The MCI Clinician also
  • Ensures a trauma-informed environment that promotes safety and recovery.
  • Provides psychiatric and substance use evaluation of individuals and families in crisis incommunity, clinic, and residential settings.
  • Provides crisis intervention services including crisis case management and short-term crisis counseling as follow-up from initial evaluation.
  • Maintains linkages with specific community services by providing documented caseconsultations and problem resolution.
  • Offers recommendations to clients regarding service options and support in accessing.
  • Performs warm hand offs to other services and care coordination entities.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crises being managed.
  • Maintains necessary documentation and records.
  • Actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree and at least 2 years' experience in human services, preferably working in a behavioral health (mental health and/or substance use) community-based outpatient or an acute or diversionary behavioral health setting.
  • LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC in state of service preferred, but not required.
  • Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Must possess excellent intake, interviewing and assessment skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to clients.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that is benefitted by the independent successes of all staff members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop effective documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally, ethnically, and socially diverse populations.
  • Understanding of social determinants of health and commitment to crisis intervention in the context of whole-person care.
  • A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment. Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least 6 months and have access to an insured, reliable vehicle.
  • Must be able to complete necessary trainings within defined timelines upon hire including CPR, First Aid, and CPSS training.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a multistate CORI, SORI, reference check, employment verification, education and credentialing background check.

If using a personal vehicle, you must possess and maintain adequate insurance as well as maintain a safe driving record which is subject to annual checks. A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment. Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least one year, and must be able to pass a driver's screening background check.  Physical Effort: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb as this is a very physically active position. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer. Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways. Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living. Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Required Certifications: CPR is required within two weeks of hire.First Aid is required within two weeks of hire.CPSS is required within six months of hire.VBH NET required.

 

Pay Range

USD $74,870.00 - USD $78,480.00 /Yr.
