What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Parks Laborer position at Vineyard City?
Do you enjoy working outdoors and helping maintain beautiful community spaces? Vineyard City is now hiring our seasonal group of Parks Laborers. The positions include: part-time, weekends only and full-time, Monday through Friday and some weekends. We're looking for motivated individuals to join our team in keeping our parks and recreational areas in top condition for our community to enjoy.
About the Role Under the direction of the Parks Manager and Crew Leader, you'll perform a variety of tasks, including routine repairs, maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation. You'll play an important role this season in ensuring Vineyard's parks and facilities are safe, welcoming, and beautiful for residents and visitors alike. Duties assigned could include but are not limited to:
- Operating splash pad, operating light equipment and vehicles
- General park maintenance work, including pavilion rentals and park restrooms
- Weed abatement, including spraying herbicides and weeding flower beds
- Trash and garbage collection
- Perform general maintenance functions and other duties as assigned
- Assist city events and recreation employees with duties as needed
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license required
- Weekend shift work will be required
- Stay focused on tasks
- Self-motivated
