Position Summary:
Vineyard Care Center is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our Dietary Department. The CDM plays a key leadership role in ensuring all residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with their care plans, preferences, and clinical needs. The position requires strong regulatory knowledge, staff leadership, and commitment to excellence in food service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily dietary operations in compliance with Title 22, CMS regulations, and local health codes.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Dietitian, Director of Nursing, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure resident dietary needs are met.
- Ensure therapeutic diets are correctly prepared and served per physician orders and dietitian recommendations.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, infection control, and sanitation protocols.
- Oversee menu development, food purchasing, inventory control, and cost management.
- Conduct regular meal rounds and quality assurance audits for continuous improvement.
- Participate in QA/QAPI meetings and other facility committees as required.
- Uphold resident rights, dignity, and satisfaction during all meal services.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential (required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state dietary regulations (Title 22, CMS).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
