Overview

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with Network Administration experience to support a diverse client environment in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) setting. This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing client infrastructure across servers, networks, and onsite data center environments, while collaborating with service desk and engineering teams to deliver reliable IT services.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, comfortable working both remotely and onsite, and experienced supporting multiple environments simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

· Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)

· Manage virtualized environments including VMware vSphere / ESXi, Hyper-V, and other hypervisors

· Perform VM provisioning, migrations, snapshots, capacity planning, and performance tuning

· Support and maintain storage arrays (SAN/NAS) including monitoring performance, managing LUNs, and ensuring availability

· Assist with storage and compute lifecycle management, including upgrades and hardware refreshes

· Manage Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Entra ID environments

· Perform server patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management

· Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity across physical and virtual infrastructure

· Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions

· Troubleshoot complex server, virtualization, and storage issues escalated from Service Desk


Network Administration

· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, and routers (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba, etc.)

· Support VLANs, VPNs, routing, and network security best practices

· Perform network assessments and remediation for client environments

· Assist with network documentation, diagrams, and change management


Onsite & Data Center Support

· Provide onsite support at client locations and data centers as required

· Perform rack-and-stack, cabling, labeling, and hardware installs

· Manage server, storage, and network equipment in colocation or client data centers

· Coordinate hardware replacements, upgrades, and decommissions

· Work with vendors for circuit installs, outages, and maintenance windows


MSP & Client Support

· Support multiple client environments in a fast-paced MSP setting

· Participate in on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance windows

· Follow MSP ticketing, documentation, and escalation processes

· Maintain clear and professional communication with clients

· Contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives


Required Qualifications

· 3–5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role

· Hands-on experience in an MSP or multi-tenant environment (preferred)

· Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365

· Practical experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure

· Experience working in data centers or server rooms

· Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)

· Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)

· Familiarity with RMM, PSA, and monitoring tools

· Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell strongly preferred)

· Industry certifications (Preferred):

o Microsoft (Azure, M365)

o CompTIA Network , Security

o Cisco (CCNA)

o VMware

o ITILv4 Foundations


Physical & Work Requirements

· Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to ~50 lbs.)

· Ability to work in data center environments (standing, cabling, ladders)

· Willingness to travel to client sites in Toronto as needed

· Participation in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotation
