Technology & AI Operations Specialist

Vinea Capital
Augusta, GA Full Time
POSTED ON 9/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/12/2027

ABOUT VINEA CAPITAL

Founded in 2017, Vinea Capital is a family office committed to building and scaling exceptional businesses with long-term vision and purpose. Healthcare remains a core focus, particularly businesses serving important needs in undeserved markets. We also invest across real estate, hospitality, sports & entertainment and other opportunities where we believe we can create long-term value and meaningful community impact.

We operate with a deliberately lean team. That means technology matters enormously: the right systems, automation and AI should allow a small group of talented people to operate with the capabilities of a much larger organization.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a sharp, service-minded technologist to be the day-to-day owner of technology and AI operations at Vinea Capital. This is not a traditional help-desk position. You will be the internal technology quartback for the firm – supporting our team, managing our systems and vendors, protecting sensitive information, and helping us aggressively apply AI and automation to the way we work.

For someone early in their technology career, this is a rare opportunity. Instead of owning one narrow part of a large IT organization, you will see and influence the entire technology environment of an entrepreneurial family office and work directly with the people running it. You do not need to know everything. You do need to be resourceful, intensely curious, technically capable and the kind of person who takes ownership when something needs to get done.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Own day-to-day technology

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technology needs across the firm.
  • Support laptops, mobile devices, printers, conference rooms, networking, Wi-Fi, VPN and video conferencing.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 accounts, permissions and core business applications.
  • Own technology onboarding and offboarding for employees.
  • Maintain hardware, software, license and device inventories.
  • Manage technology purchasing and lifecycle replacement.
  • Troubleshoot urgent technology issues for firm leadership and team members.
  • Maintain clear documentation so critical knowledge belongs to Vinea, not any one person.

Manage Our Technology Partners

  • Serve as Vinea's internal point person for external IT, cybersecurity, software and technology vendors.
  • Coordinate projects, support requests and security initiatives.
  • Hold vendors accountable for responsiveness and performance.
  • Identify when an issue requires outside expertise and escalate appropriately.

Protect the Firm

  • Maintain strong day-to-day security practices across users and devices.
  • Manage MFA, password management, endpoint protection and access controls.
  • Conduct periodic user and permission reviews.
  • Coordinate backups and restore testing with our technology partners.
  • Help administer security-awareness training and phishing simulations.
  • Serve as Vinea's internal first responder when suspicious activity occurs and coordinate escalation with our cybersecurity partners.
  • Help maintain clear standards for handling confidential financial, investment, business and personal information.

Put AI to Work

We believe AI should make every person at Vinea more capable. You will help make that happen.

  • Evaluate and implement AI tools for investment research, document analysis, meeting preparation, correspondence, reporting and internal operations.
  • Build practical workflows, automations and AI agents that eliminate repetitive work.
  • Work with platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft tools and other technologies we adopt.
  • Connect AI with existing business applications where appropriate.
  • Identify recurring work across Vinea that can be simplified or automated.
  • Measure whether implemented technology actually saves time or improves results.
  • Run practical AI training for the Vinea team.
  • Create simple guidance that helps employees understand how and when to use approved tools.
  • Help maintain responsible AI standards governing confidential information, human review and appropriate use.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Approximately two to five years of hands-on experience in IT support, systems administration, technology operations or a related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and common SaaS applications.
  • Solid understanding of networks, devices, permissions and basic cybersecurity.
  • Strong instincts around privacy and confidential information.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI and demonstrated use of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms.
  • Curiosity about automation and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills and a service mentality.
  • Sound judgment and discretion.
  • A self-starting temperament.

In a small organization, the person who notices the problem is often the person who solves it.

HELPFUL, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience with PowerShell, Python or workflow platforms such as Power Automate, Zapier, Make or similar tools.
  • Experience using APIs or connecting SaaS applications.
  • Experience at a family office, investment firm, professional services firm or another high-trust organization.
  • Exposure to mobile device management, cloud administration or cybersecurity platforms.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , Microsoft credentials or equivalent experience.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

During your first year, we expect you to:

  • Create a clean and well-documented technology environment.
  • Make onboarding, offboarding and access management consistent and reliable.
  • Improve Vinea's security posture.
  • Make everyday technology nearly invisible to the team because it simply works.
  • Establish clear standards around AI and confidential information.
  • Help every member of the team become more capable using AI.
  • Deploy meaningful automations that eliminate repetitive administrative work.
  • Build technology processes that can scale as Vinea grows.

WHY THIS ROLE IS WORTH YOUR TIME

  • Ownership from day one. You will have responsibility for a real technology environment rather than one small piece of one.
  • Direct access. You will work closely with the leaders of the firm and see how decisions are made.
  • Exposure. You will see how a family office evaluates, acquires, operates and invests in businesses across multiple industries.
  • AI at the center. We are actively investing in AI and automation rather than treating them as side projects.
  • Room to grow. A high performer in this role can grow into broader technology leadership as Vinea expands.
  • A lean team. Fewer layers. Fewer decisions. More responsibility.
