Job description:
Vine Living is hiring a full time Renovation Technician in the Des Moines metro. This is a renovation and projects role, not a service call role. You will spend your days turning and rebuilding apartment units, working under our Project Manager.
About Vine Living
Vine Living is a small Des Moines business with a team of four. We acquire, renovate, and operate multifamily properties across Des Moines and Central Iowa, and we handle most of the work in house, from property management and resident services to full unit renovations. While much of the industry has paused, we have more than doubled oin the past year, and we are still gorwing. Being small means decisions get made the same day, good work gets noticed immediately, and the people who produce take on more as we grow.
What you will be doing
- Full unit turns and renovations, from demo and prep through final detail
- Flooring installation, including LVP, underlayment, and transitions
- Drywall patching, texture, caulking, and interior painting
- Cabinet, countertop, vanity, and trim installation
- Door, hardware, and blind installation
- Tub, surround, toilet, faucet, and light fixture replacement
- Appliance installation and basic repairs
- Punch list work to get units move in ready
- Hauling materials, picking up supplies, and keeping job sites clean and organized
- Occasional maintenance support when the project schedule allows.
What we need from you
- Some renovation or construction experience, or general handyman skills and the drive to learn fast
- Ability to read a scope of work, follow direction, and finish a unit to standard
- Attention to detail.
- Reliability. Show up on time every scheduled day, communicate early if something changes, and follow through
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, climb ladders, and work in varying conditions
Schedule
Full time. We offer flexible schedules with work typically taking place Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work takes place at our properties across the Des Moines metro, so you will move between job sites.
