This is going to be one of the most honest job posts you’ve ever seen.
What is this job? You will move large handfuls of raw cotton that weigh 5-8 pounds from the floor into the machine that mixes the cotton. We run about 4,000 pounds per day. This means you will do that task over 600 times per day. The cotton is dusty. The job is not difficult, but it is doing the same thing for the majority of the day. When you have filled the machine, there is always sweeping to do. You will occasionally be asked to assist in loading 140 lb bales into trucks with two wheeled hand trucks. As you learn the cotton mix, you will be able to assist removing finished goods from the machine.
Candidate requirements:
Strength.
Ability to work in a dusty and loud environment.
Reliability. You need to be in to work every day. We are a small shop and we have to slow down production when one person is not in. Any absences in the first month may result in termination. You will be in a trial period for 60 days.
Candidates local to LF get priority hiring because that removes the issue of you not being able to get to work due to a lack of transportation.
We work 6:00AM - 4:30 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Sometimes there is OT available on Fridays 6:00AM - Noon. Be on time, every day.
You get all major holidays paid off. A week at July 4, a week X-mas to New Year, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
Raises happen as you learn and show proficiency, and yearly.

There’s not much room to “move up the ladder” but it’s a solid 40 hours and a 4 day work week with all the holidays off.
