About the Role
We are seeking an early-career developer to contribute to our Shopify e-commerce platform while building expertise across both the technical and commercial sides of a growing online business.
This is a 4-month contract with a defined path to full-time employment. The successful candidate will work directly with our Assistant Web Director, who retains hands-on development responsibilities and will provide day-to-day mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Support a site-wide design refresh
- Maintain and extend custom-built middleware
- Enhance integrations with third-party applications, including Rebuy and Recharge
- Troubleshoot platform issues and develop custom functionality
- Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, and operations on initiatives that advance business objectives
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Hands-on exposure to Shopify development (Liquid, themes, or apps) through professional work, coursework, personal projects, or freelance engagements
- Strong problem-solving skills and genuine interest in the operational side of e-commerce
- A proactive approach to learning and clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Rebuy, Recharge, or other Shopify ecosystem applications
- Familiarity with API integrations, back-end development, or SEO and performance optimization
- Prior experience in e-commerce, retail, or direct-to-consumer environments
- Interest in merchandising, conversion optimization, or customer lifecycle management
- A specific degree is not required; bootcamp graduates, self-taught developers, and career changers are welcome.
