Overview

Be the point person for liquid dairy movement. You’ll orchestrate safe, efficient receiving of raw milk and whey, ensure test accuracy, and keep plant teams and vendors aligned so production never misses a beat.

Core duties

• Manage, monitor, and communicate milk and whey flows across all plant departments and with outside partners.
• Collect and analyze samples following standard methods; document and share results promptly.
• Sustain sanitary conditions for all intake and raw milk area equipment; execute assignments on the Plant Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintain all required licenses/certifications; assist during audits and inspections with thorough records.
• Coordinate closely with production, QA, maintenance, and logistics; follow the Plant traffic pattern plan.
• Adhere to position-related GMPs, sanitation/quality procedures, OSHA safety practices, and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Success metrics

• Precise documentation and complete recordkeeping.
• Meeting or exceeding efficiency, quality, and safety targets.
• Current licenses, certifications, and training.
• On-time completion of Master Sanitation Schedule records.

Required skills

• Read and interpret gauges and thermometers accurately.
• Basic math competency for calculations and measurements.
• Operate computer-controlled systems; visually evaluate color-change test strips.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Effective problem-solving and timely decision-making.

Mandatory credentials

• Bulk Milk Weigher and Sampler License (active).
• Milk, Food, and Water Analyst Certification (active).

Physical demands

• Ability to climb steps throughout the shift.
• Capable of intake-related physical work, including lifting up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Production roles are performed in a food manufacturing environment and require strict adherence to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards, including use of required PPE. Employees may work in areas with variable temperatures, machinery noise, and exposure to food ingredients and sanitation chemicals. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting up to 25–35 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance).
