Industrial Maintenance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Step into a night or afternoon where your craftsmanship keeps a food plant running

Picture your shift starting at either 9:00 PM–5:00 AM (Monday–Friday) or 1:00 PM–9:00 PM. You review the maintenance log, grab your tools, and head to the floor. A conveyor is due for lubrication, a filler needs an adjustment, and you’ve got preventive checks queued up to keep production humming. You’re the go-to problem solver who restores flow, prevents downtime, and communicates clearly with operations every step of the way.

Compensation and schedule
  • Pay: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, plus shift differentials
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus
  • Shifts: 9 PM–5 AM (Mon–Fri) or 1 PM–9 PM
  • Job Type: Full-time | Work Location: In person
What your day looks like
  • Own uptime: perform daily/weekly PMs—cleaning, greasing, oiling, and adjustments—to keep processing, filling, and support systems in peak condition.
  • Triage and resolve work orders quickly; document findings and repairs with accuracy.
  • Inspect lines and facilities regularly; flag emerging issues and potential failures before they impact output.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and restore function on packaging, processing, and ancillary equipment.
  • Maintain a well-organized personal tool kit and monitor spare parts and materials, alerting leadership when stock runs low.
  • Collaborate with production and QA; communicate clearly with your lead, supervisor, and teammates.
  • Champion compliance: follow SQF, GMPs, sanitation standards, and OSHA safety protocols; complete all required paperwork.
  • Pitch in on additional tasks as directed by Maintenance leadership.
What you bring
  • Hands-on, solutions-first mindset with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills; capable with basic electrical testing and meters.
  • Introductory PLC familiarity (preferred).
  • Welding experience and sound craftsmanship.
  • Clear communicator who prioritizes work effectively and follows SOPs.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and a strong safety attitude.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient mechanical experience and practical electrical exposure.
  • Machine operation experience (preferred); food manufacturing exposure (preferred).
  • Additional preferences: 4 years in maintenance and 3 years in manufacturing maintenance.

Safety, environment, and inclusion

Expect a dynamic food production floor with variable temperatures, machine noise, and frequent interaction with ingredients and sanitation chemicals. PPE is a must, and you’ll be on your feet—moving, lifting, and problem-solving—throughout the shift.

WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Production roles are performed in a food manufacturing environment and require strict adherence to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards, including use of required PPE. Employees may work in areas with variable temperatures, machinery noise, and exposure to food ingredients and sanitation chemicals. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting up to 25–35 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance).
