What you'll do
- Design and implement recreational therapy programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Organize and oversee daily activities that encourage socialization and engagement among residents.
- Collaborate with caregivers and nursing staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, promoting independence while providing support.
- Maintain a positive atmosphere by fostering relationships with residents and their families through effective communication.
- Manage schedules for activities, ensuring a diverse range of options are available to meet various interests.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, enhancing their quality of life through meaningful interactions.
- Document participation in activities and gather feedback to continually improve programming.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in senior care or long-term care settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in music or recreational therapy is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or working with people with disabilities is a plus.
- Experience in home & community care or social work can enhance your candidacy.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling will be beneficial in supporting our residents.
