Externally, you’ll collaborate with vendors and sub-contractors to stay up-to-date on product, supply and sub-contractor prices. Specific Responsibilities
- Review proposal specifications submitted by salesperson through the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
- If necessary, meet with salesperson and/or client for clarification
- Visually inspect potential job sites, performing on-site measurements if required to estimate the labor and equipment required
- Collect quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
- Work with Project and Operations Managers and branch buyers to answer any questions about product
- Compute cost proposal by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
- Build proposal in current bidding software
- Use CRM to submit accurate proposals to salesperson in a timely manner
- Perform analysis on previous proposals to determine accuracy and opportunities for improvement
- Understand and use appropriate estimating principles in creating proposals
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to read site plans
- Excellent math proficiency to accurately establish a finalized estimate
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish proficiency in estimating software, CRM, and Microsoft Office environment
