Villamar Law Group is a fast-growing, client-focused Workers' Compensation law firm with offices in Queens and Long Island. We are looking for a motivated, professional, dependable, and bilingual (English/Spanish) Intake Paralegal who is ready to build a long-term career with our firm.

Prior Workers' Compensation experience is preferred but not required. We are committed to training the right candidate who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Long Island office. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

The Intake team plays a critical role in ensuring that every client receives exceptional service from the moment they retain our firm. Responsibilities include:

  • Heavy volume of client communication by telephone, email, text message, and in person.
  • Conducting client intakes and maintaining strong relationships with clients throughout the life of the case.
  • Preparing and filing Workers' Compensation forms, including C-3, C-3.3, RFA-1, OC-400, OC-400.1, and other routine filings.
  • Reviewing files to ensure timely progression of cases.
  • Monitoring case status and identifying outstanding issues.
  • Obtaining medical records, including hospital records.
  • Communicating with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and referral sources.
  • Drafting routine correspondence.
  • Assisting attorneys with case management and administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized electronic files.
  • Supervising and training an assigned assistant once established in the role.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required). Official transcript must be brought to the interview.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Workers' Compensation experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with case management software is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for our clients and team.
