JOB SUMMARY
Directly reporting to the Patrol Supervisors, this position is responsible for managing field activities as directed in their assigned area and work a four (4) day work week with seven (7) hour shifts to ensure consistent and compliant employee performance across shifts. Position shall be responsible for: assisting in problem recognition & resolution, conducting Gate Attendant training & performance, scheduling, documentation, shift communications & the completion of district & department goals & objectives following prescribed policies & procedures. Develops & maintains cooperative & courteous relationships with residents, staff, other District departments, outside agencies, and the general public. Maintains and furthers the positive image of Community Watch and the District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes, but not limited to)
Staff management:
- Planning, assigning, and directing work to staff through the Patrol Supervisor.
- Developing, implementing, and tracking staffing guidelines as required.
- Assist in recruitment, interviewing, selection, training of Community Watch Gate Attendants.
- Maintain effective working relationships with District employees.
- Reports policies and procedures deficiencies along with recognitions to the Patrol Supervisor.
- Participates in planning staff meetings and training classes to successfully educate staff of policies and procedures within the District and Community Watch.
Administrative
- Perform general administrative/clerical work as required; including but not limited to, preparing reports & correspondence, copying & filing documents, entering & retrieving computer data, attending & conducting meeting & classes, and communicating via computer, radio & telephone.
- Reviews logs, reports, and forms for accuracy & completeness at the direction of the Patrol Supervisor.
- Schedules, verifies and tracks staffing of Gate Attendants.
- Works with departmental supervisors and Field Operations Manager to plan, organize & implement programs within areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively & jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Able to effectively utilize software specific to Community Watch.
General
- Travel between facilities within the department (gates, District offices, etc.) as required.
- Provide input to Patrol Supervisors in order to assist in the development of long-range plans.
- Knowledge of District and department policies and procedures.
- Attends periodic training and conferences as directed.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the geography of The Villages.
- Responsible for safe and proper operation of assigned District property.
Additional
- Performs other duties as assigned, by the CW Executive Management Team and/or Patrol supervisors.
- May be expected to perform additional duties in an emergency.
