What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute School Nurse position at Village School of North Bennington?
The Substitute School Nurse performs professional nursing duties as defined by Vermont guidelines, regulations, statutes, and Village School school policies. The Substitute prepares reports for the purpose of data collection regarding student and/or staff visits to the Nurse’s Office. The Substitute may provide medically prescribed interventions, including medication. The Substitute cares for ill or injured children, as well as administers first-aid in accordance with state protocol to students and/or school staff, and pursues any further necessary measures to ensure proper care of an accidental injury or sudden illness at school.
Important Note: This position is as-needed during the school year only; it is contingent upon need and does not include a guaranteed number of hours.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- The following certifications or licenses will be considered for this position: Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), Paramedic, Paramedic, or current EMT certification
- Current CPR certification or the ability to become certified upon hire, required
- A minimum of one full year of relevant experience, required
- Experience working with children aged 3-13, strongly preferred
- Must be able to pass a series of background checks, including fingerprinting
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
