What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Registered Nurse position at Village Pointe Pediatrics/Dundee Pediatrics?
NATURE AND SCOPE:

The incumbent works collaboratively with physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, vendors and other leaders to achieve clinic Mission, Vision and objectives. This position will work primarily at our Village Pointe Pediatrics location but rotations to our Dundee Pediatrics locations is expected. Work 4 days per week to include one evening shift. Saturday morning rotations with the rest of the team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Conducts the initial clinical assessment interview and documents relevant findings in the electronic medical record.
2. Takes responsibility for ensuring an efficient clinical flow by loading patients into exam rooms, preparing patients appropriately for the clinical encounter, carrying out physician orders, and preparing exam rooms for new patients.
3. Assists clinic providers with exams, treatment, procedures and testing as directed.
4. Receives, assesses, prioritizes, documents and facilitates response to incoming clinic calls.
5. Schedules tests, treatments and inpatient admissions.
6. Registers patients by collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, as well as obtaining appropriate consents and providing any other required materials.
7. Follows-up on lab and diagnostic test results to ensure information is relayed to providers efficiently. 8. Assists with overall clinic operation by maintaining par levels in exam rooms and decentralized supply areas, cleaning and preparing exam rooms in between encounters, sterilizing instruments as necessary, and performing other duties as assigned.
9. Accurately performs basic calculations for appropriate dose, safely prepares and administers prescribed medications, as ordered by the healthcare provider, in accordance with organizational policy and procedure.
10. Performs phlebotomy and collects other specimens for accurate lab processing and analysis.
11. Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in clinic meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs.
12. Maintains compliance with established departmental and organizational policies, procedures.
13. Demonstrates work practices consistent with Village Pointe Pediatrics/Dundee Pediatrics safety, security and infection control policies.
14. Other duties as assigned.
