As an Optometrist at our practice, you will play a crucial role in practicing full scope Optometry to provide effective patient care and education. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids based on patient needs.
- Monitor and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices, technologies, products and medical terminology.
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and systems relevant to eye care.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and ocular health.
- Solid knowledge of physiology as it pertains to visual function and health.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
