Environmental Conditions: Will be required to interact with clients/patients in emotional and occasionally hostile situations; work in an office environment and/or a secure facility; drive to community sites and to meetings; occasionally work evenings/weekends to attend meetings/special events.

(your application must include this information) Education in a behavioral science field such as psychology, counseling, or social work may be substituted for up to one year of the experience requirement on the basis of 30 semester units or 45 quarter of units for one year of experience. Note: If you only have two years of experience, and want to substitute education for one year of experience, you must provide a copy of a transcript that includes the required credits. - Commitment to the highest quality of care
- Persuasiveness to teach individuals to modify their lifestyles for better health
- Three years experience providing direct client-related services to persons experiencing mental health, drug abuse or alcohol disorders OR possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college in a behavioral science field such as psychology, counseling or social work
- Interviewing and screening prospective clients to assess the treatment programs for a broad range of disorders
- Assist with residential placements, benefits acquisition, vocational rehabilitation
- Perform individual case management
- Assist clients in identifying and correcting inappropriate behavior
- Implementing and evaluating treatment or recovery plans for a variety of clients
- Maintain accurate client records
- Complying with state and federal regulations regarding the treatment of mentally ill clients
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with interdisciplinary staff, clients, families and within county and community organizations
- Provide linkage to community based resources
- Recommending and assisting in the establishment of new services as needed
- Administering psychiatric medications
