Village of Rantoul is now accepting applications for the 2026/2027 school year for an after school Site Coordinator.

The Explores Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and daily operation of the assigned Explores after school program site. This includes supervising staff, coordinating programming, ensuring grant compliance, managing student and family engagement, collaborating with school and community partners, and creating a safe, engaging, high quality after school experience for students. The Explores Site Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the school, district, families, and community partners to ensure the successful implementations of the Explores program.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be available August 1st to May 30th
  • Must be available 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the days when the program is in session
  • This position requires additional hours outside of regular program hours for planning, staff supervision, meetings, professional development, family engagement, recruitment, special events, data collection, grant reporting, and other program responsibilities necessary for successful implementation
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License is preferred
  • Experience working with elementary aged students
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, instruction, and student engagement strategies
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff while building positive relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, community partners, and school personnel
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain certification upon hire
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB
  • Provide leadership and supervision to all Explores staff to ensure high-quality programming and successful implementation of grant goals
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily program operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-managed environment for students and staff
  • Coordinate academic support, enrichment activities, and social emotional learning opportunities aligned with program goals
  • Develop program schedules, staff assignments, activity rotations, transportation schedules, and special events
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, interventionists, and student support staff to address student needs and improve outcomes
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, community organizations, and program partners
  • Recruit, coordinate, and manage community partners and enrichment vendors
  • Ensure compliance with all district, state, federal, and 21st Century Community Learning Center grant requirements
  • Monitor attendance, participation, and student outcome data while maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Prepare reports and oversee data collection required for grant compliance and program evaluation
  • Assist staff with planning engaging enrichment activities and instructional lessons
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and evaluating staff
  • Communicate regularly with Project Director regarding program operations, student concerns, staffing, and facility needs
  • Promote student participation through family outreach and community engagement
  • Ensure program spaces, equipment, and materials are organized, safe, and well maintained
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, conferences, and district events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
