Zoning/Code Enforcement Inspector
The Village of Put-in-Bay seeks applicants for a Part-time Zoning/Code Enforcement Inspector. This role works under the Village Planning Commission and requires varied hours based on demand.
Salary/Pay Rate $20-$28 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
The Zoning/Code Enforcement Inspector shall have the following duties:
· To interpret the meaning and application of the Village of Put-in-Bay
Zoning code and its provisions to specific situations.
· To inspect new and existing construction to comply with zoning ordinances and property maintenance codes.
· Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports.
· Determine the existence of any violations of this zoning code and initiate such other administrative or legal action as needed to address such violations.
· Communicate with the Planning Commission, Village Council, and members of the community on various matters.
· Administer the guidance and enforcement of the Transient Rental Property Regulations.
· Administer the guidance and enforcement of the Parking Compliance Study.
· Attend all meetings related to the Planning Commission.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and a safe driving record
· Knowledge of the principles and practices of zoning code and the ability to perform accurate inspections and plan reviews in a timely manner
· Ability to initiate action needed to address violations
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Basic computer skills
