The Village of Palatine Department of Public Works is seeking a Summer Laborer
- Operates a variety of light trucks and equipment in the repair, maintenance and construction of public works water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, streets, and urban forest.
- Inspects and maintains vehicles and equipment; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
- Assists with the preparations and tear down / cleanup for events, festivals and special functions.
- Ability to tolerate both inside and outside environmental conditions. Position is performed under fluctuating and extreme temperatures, with some exposure to noise.
Qualifications :
- Must be 18 or older and enrolled as a full-time student in college for fall 2024.
- Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
- Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment background check and medical and drug screening (including cannabis).
Salary : $16.00 per hour.
Hours : Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. - 3 : 30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
Employment Duration : 3 months (summer).
