What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Custodian position at Village of Newton Falls, OH?
NATURE OF WORK:
A full-time, hourly position that is appointed by the City Manager and works directly under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent. Responsible for cleaning and general maintenance of both City Hall and the Municipal Court Building. Works a set schedule from 7 am to 3:30 pm
Maintenance:
Perform a variety of general building maintenance and semi-skilled labor, such as minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, painting, concrete/masonry and other duties as assigned by the maintenance superintendent.
Custodial:
Empty trash, dust, clean and sanitize, sweep and mop floors, restock bathrooms and other duties as assigned in each building
Performs such other duties as may be assigned
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
v A working knowledge of hand and power tools to safely and efficiently perform maintenance duties
v A working knowledge of janitorial/custodian practices to clean and sanitize municipal buildings
v Three or more years of experience in a similar position
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
v High school diploma and three years of related maintenance experience
v Good communication and time management skills
v Ability to pass a background check and initial drug screening
v Ability to pass a physical
v Works well as part of a team
v Displays initiative and dependability
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
