Description
The Village of Mundelein is seeking motivated individuals to join our Public Works and Engineering Department as a Summer Seasonal Employee. The position will be from May 2026 through August 2026 with work hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Work is performed in outdoor weather conditions and near vehicular traffic.
The individual in this position performs duties which are normally assigned to regular maintenance workers in the off-season. This includes day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of Village properties, roadways, facilities, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 17 years of age or older.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Mechanical aptitude and/or related training is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move safely across construction sites, public streets, and parkways with moderate traffic.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Sufficient hand-eye coordination to operate computers and various measurement, locating, and testing instruments.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Base hourly wage of $17.00.
- Employees accrue one (1) hour of paid leave for every forty (40) hours worked. Accrued leave may be used after ninety (90) days of employment.
This position will remain open until filled.
