The Village of Mokena has an opening for a Part-Time Evidence/Records Clerk at the police department. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of police evidence procedures, police records management systems and the ability to perform their duties with minimal supervision.
The Evidence/Records Clerk is a non-sworn, part-time civilian member of the Police Department and provides a variety of non-emergency services to the community that do not require physical arrest or relate to a crime in progress. The Evidence/Records Clerk handles highly sensitive and/or confidential information and performs manual and clerical work in the receipt, storage and release of found, stolen and confiscated property and evidence impounded by the Mokena Police Department. Additional duties include processing body-worn, in-car and other digital videos. This position will require a high level of discretion, the ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to new technologies and work under minimal supervision.
POSITION CONTEXT: The Evidence/Records Clerk will work 20-24 hours per. The work schedule will be determined by the needs of the department. This position will experience contact with internal staff members, law enforcement personnel, outside agencies and the community at large. The salary range for this position is $22.77 - $28.75 per hour.
