ABOUT THE POSITION
This is an exciting and rewarding role where
the selected candidate will be responsible for
assisting with the planning, directing, and
supervision of all aspects of the Village’s
Class B wastewater treatment plant. This
includes supervision of three (3) full-time
Work Hours staff members.
M-Th 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
F 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. This position is full time and regularly
scheduled overtime/on-call is required
(weekends included).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Five or more years of progressively more responsible
experience in wastewater treatment or a related field.
State of Michigan Driver’s License and a satisfactory
driving record.
State of Michigan Wastewater Operator Class B
License.
State of Michigan Storm Water Management and
Industrial Site program certifications preferred.
State of Michigan Drinking Water Operator
Distribution Treatment S-2 and Limited Treatment D-
2 preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of municipal public works operations,
sewer and water systems, and more.
A strong emphasis on safety and demonstrate good
judgement and initiative.
WAGES & BENEFITS
A competitive salary range of $74,422-$94,685.
Rotating paid on-call time, with 3 hours additional pay per
day plus opportunity for additional overtime & use of work
vehicle

ABOUT THE VILLAGE
The Village of Milford is 2.5 square miles nestled in southwest
Oakland County and is easily accessed from both I-96 and M-59.
With a population of approximately 6,520, the Village serves as the
central business district for approximately 25,000 people in the
surrounding areas. The thriving downtown district draws visitors
from communities such as Ann Arbor and Dearborn, while
retaining its small-town charm.
The Village boasts six parks within its boundaries. Central Park,
located on the banks of the Huron River, is a favorite of the
children and teens who enjoy the playscape, basketball courts,
tennis court, volleyball court, and ice rink. Fairgrounds Park is
adjacent to the Senior Center for easy access to a picnic area and
skate park. Hubbell Pond Park is the site of the YMCA and Library,
and a trail system that runs from Commerce Road all the way to
Kensington Park on South Milford Road. The Village is part of the
Huron Valley School District with two elementary schools and one
middle school located within the Village.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Public Services (DPS) is responsible for a wide
variety of tasks that are essential to the operations of the Village.
Employees of the department maintain the Villages six parks,
approximately 27 miles of roads, parking lots in the downtown
district, the water supply and distribution system, the sanitary
sewer collection and wastewater treatment systems, the storm
sewer collection system, and the Civic Center.
