We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Building Inspector to join our team at the Village of Jackson. As an Assistant Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents by enforcing building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct building inspections, review plans, and issue permits to ensure compliance with code requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to contractors, applicants, and the public on code-related matters.
- Prepare and communicate inspection reports using verbal, written, and typed methods.
- Work closely with the Director of Building Inspection and Zoning while working in Jackson, and with the City's Building Inspector while working in Hartford.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in a related field is highly desirable. At least three years of progressive residential and/or commercial inspection experience is required. You should have thorough knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and construction methods.
