What are the responsibilities and job description for the CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERN position at Village of Glendale Heights?
The Village of Glendale Heights Public Works Department is seeking student applicants for the temporary position of Civil Engineering Intern. This position is expected to begin work in late-May and continue through August (approximately 10 to 12 weeks). The Civil Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting the Engineering division of the Public Works Department in the planning, designing, administration, and construction of capital improvement and maintenance projects.
Primary Duties:
- Perform construction inspections.
- Participate on survey crews.
- Review permit applications
- Data collection and research.

Minimum Qualifications:
This is a temporary position for the summer months in 2026. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours weekly. Work may be performed in outdoor conditions and/or near vehicular traffic.
