Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-time Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and student development in a dynamic educational environment. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special education requirements. The paraprofessional will assist teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), managing classroom activities, and providing essential support to promote an inclusive and engaging learning experience. Duties

• Support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson planning, curriculum development, behavior management, and classroom support tailored to their individual needs.
• Use effective behavior management techniques to foster positive behavior and create a safe, respectful learning environment for all students.
• Assist in developing and executing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring accommodations are met consistently.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support student progress and well-being.
• Support literacy education, basic math skills, early childhood development activities, and toddler care as needed to promote holistic growth.

Skills

• Proven experience working with children and students with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
• Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and supporting literacy and math instruction in special education contexts.
• Proficient in communication skills including verbal, written, and non-verbal methods such as American Sign Language.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Experience working within private school environments or similar educational settings is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Childcare field and early childhood education principles to support young learners’ growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals for comprehensive student support plans.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks related to classroom support and documentation requirements like IEPs.
