Job Summary
The Campus Aide Substitute supports the daily life of Village Christian School by providing supervision and care for elementary students before and/or after school, during recess, and at lunch on a substitute basis. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, positive, and nurturing campus environment by monitoring student behavior, supporting school policies, and responding calmly to student needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, and relational, with a heart for serving children and partnering with school staff to promote student well-being.
Requirements / Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following qualities and characteristics: - Ability to develop trusting, nurturing relationships with students and adults - High degree of integrity and confidentiality - A strong Christian faith - Ability to work as part of a team - Self-motivation, initiative and good problem solving/decision making skills - Ability to respond calmly and thoughtfully to challenging situations or emergencies - High degree of flexibility and punctuality - Clear communication skills - Ability to anticipate student behavior and intervene before problems arise - Attention to detail - Ability to focus on multiple situations simultaneously - Ability to determine and follow proper channels of authority/chain of command - Experience working with Elementary aged children in a school or church setting - Current First Aid/CPR certification - Minimum education: High School Diploma This position reports directly to the Elementary Assistant Principal. This is a substitute position, so hours will vary over the course of the school year.
