What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Village Christian Academy?
Village Christian Academy is seeking an enthusiastic English teacher to join our school community. This is a flexible, part-time position.
Our model allows teachers to focus on meaningful instruction while enjoying a flexible schedule. Teachers are on campus Wednesdays and Thursdays and may teach one or multiple classes based on availability and school needs.
The English teacher will plan and deliver engaging instruction for middle school and/or high school students, foster strong communication skills, and cultivate a love for reading and writing in an excellent learning environment using the curriculum materials provided by Village Christian Academy.
In addition to planning and teaching engaging English lessons, the responsibilities of the teacher include:
- adapting lessons and activities to meet the needs of students
- maintaining an accurate online gradebook and providing timely feedback on student work
- communicating regularly with parents through email, conferences, and progress reports
- creating a positive, organized, and encouraging classroom environment
- supporting the mission and vision of Village Christian Academy
Qualifications:
- previous teaching experience preferred
- comfortable using technology for grading, communication, and instructional planning
- excellent organizational and classroom management abilities
- strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
