Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse menu of family-style dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every meal
- Follow recipes precisely to maintain flavor profiles and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching pots, braising pans, and food production machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment according to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Handle food safely during preparation, cooking, storage, and service to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Support high-volume food production during busy periods while adhering to portion control and recipe adherence
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment, with a focus on family or casual dining settings
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely under pressure during peak hours
- Experience with dietary department standards or dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
- Familiarity with high-volume production processes necessary for busy restaurant settings
- Excellent food handling skills combined with a passion for culinary excellence and recipe adherence
