Salary Range: $63,500-$68,500 (DOE)
Position Summary
Village Behavioral Health is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to support our Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) program. This role is responsible for ensuring clinical documentation meets all Medicaid, CARF, DBHDS, and agency compliance
standards. The ideal candidate has experience in behavioral health documentation, understands crisis services, and can identify compliance risks before they impact billing, audits, or service delivery. Candidates with QMHP or QMHP-Eligible status are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Documentation Review
- Review Mobile Crisis documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Ensure documentation meets Medicaid, CARF, and DBHDS regulatory requirements
- Verify documentation supports medical necessity and appropriate service delivery
- Monitor timeliness of documentation (same-day / 24-hour requirements)
- Navigate EMR systems (e.g., Notable) to ensure accuracy and compliance
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Audit assigned charts every 30 days to ensure full compliance
- Ensure all notes are corrected, signed, and locked by deadlines
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate required corrections

- Maintain compliance to prevent audit findings, recoupments, and regulatory risks
Reporting & Tracking
- Complete weekly QA review report
- Maintain and update monthly audit trackers
- Identify trends in documentation errors and escalate concerns to leadership
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Clinical Supervisors, QMHP staff, and leadership
- Provide clear, timely feedback to staff regarding documentation concerns

- Participate in QA meetings and trainings
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in reinforcing QA standards and best practices
- Stay current on Medicaid, CARF, and DBHDS updates
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in human services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field- Experience in behavioral health documentation or QA review
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in Mobile Crisis (MCR) or community-based services
- Familiarity with DBHDS, CARF, and Medicaid requirements
- QMHP or QMHP-Eligible strongly preferred
- Experience with EMR systems (Notable, Credible, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems
