Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Coordinator

Villa St. Francis Assisted Living was founded in Milwaukee in 1990 by the Felician Sisters, a religious order established in Warsaw, Poland in 1855 to meet the needs of the poor, the orphaned, the sick and the elderly.  We are a thriving senior living community dedicated to providing our residents with an inviting and comfortable environment, fostering not only a sense of home but also numerous opportunities for enjoyable activities, lasting friendships, and a healthy lifestyle.

We are seeking to hire an Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Coordinator.

• $16 per hour.
• Tues and Thurs; 5pm to 8pm plus 1st and 3rd Weekend of Every Month.

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Coordinator Qualifications:  

• High School diploma or the equivalent plus a year of experience working with the senior population.
• Experience working with older adults with memory impairment.
• Experience working with arts and crafts.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing); effectively interact with residents, their family members, supervisors, and other staff members.
• Ability to lead activities independently.
• A valid WI driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to drive a 13-passenger van.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Coordinator Working Environment:

• Must have ability to sit (30%) walk and stand (70%) routinely throughout the shift.
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift, position and transfer resident.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.  

Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Coordinator Job Summary:

• Assists in organizing, planning, and implementing individual, small and large group activities.
• Assists in planning of monthly calendar of events.
• Collaborates with the Director to produce, maintain, and distribute the monthly activity calendar and newsletter.
• Provides feedback on the activity needs of residents.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation of resident participation.
• Monitors activity areas used to ensure areas are safe, appropriate, and clean; coordinates maintenance.
• Responsible for the maintenance of supplies and proper functioning of activities equipment.
• Participates in quality improvement processes.
• Assists in decorating common areas.
• Assists in internal fundraising efforts including raffles, craft and bake sales.
