About the Role
Villa Maria Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced RN Supervisor to join our leadership team. The RN Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing clinical staff, ensuring high-quality resident care, and promoting a positive, collaborative environment across shifts. This position helps drive excellence in nursing practice while supporting our commitment to resident dignity, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, direct, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to ensure delivery of resident-centered care.
Monitor clinical operations and ensure compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and quality standards.
Conduct nursing rounds to assess resident conditions, communicate changes to physicians and families, and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring accurate documentation and continuity of care.
Provide guidance in managing emergencies, incidents, and critical resident changes with sound clinical judgment.
Support and mentor staff through ongoing training, feedback, and leadership presence on the floor.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (therapy, dietary, social services, etc.) to promote overall resident outcomes.
Participate in care plan development, quality improvement initiatives, and infection control procedures.
Serve as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and accountability.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut.
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or related healthcare facility.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
Preferred:
Training or experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia care populations.
Working knowledge of infection control, MDS, and care plan processes.
