The organization provides innovative programs to support Spanish-speaking constituencies in navigating social service opportunities which ultimately increase employability, financial security, food and housing access, education, leadership skills and community engagement.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for community work and a demonstrated commitment to learning and advancing anti-racism, inclusion, and anti-oppression practices at all levels—personal, community, and organizational.This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a highly- effective team of four Managers to ensure the safety, quality, efficiency, and fiscal stability of each program area and will be reviewing current practices and processes.

As Villa embarks on its 2026-2028 Strategic Planning implementation, the Program Director (P.D.) will provide guidance to a tight-knit, program-driven staff of 25 people. The P.D. will facilitate cross-program collaboration, ensuring effective programmatic infrastructure, and will provide support, coordination, coaching, and operational management.

The P.D. acts as a liaison between staff, leadership, and stakeholders, provides regular reports on program performance, works closely with the Executive Director (E.D.), Managers, Accountant and Administrative staff to design, implement, and support systems and operations that advance the success of Villa Comunitaria’s programs and services.

This position is expected to serve as the senior lead and advisor for 4 project managers: Child and Family Development; Skills, Economic and Workforce Development; Family Case Management; and Civic and Community Engagement. In addition to providing guidance and mentorship to staff, this position identifies and qualifies grant opportunities for public and private funding/ contracts.

Core Responsibilities

· Lead Program Excellence: Lead and execute the Programs-portion of strategic planning ensuring quality services, meeting community needs, and exceeding stakeholder expectations. Support daily operations to maintain smooth workflows, efficiency, and program integrity.

· Evaluation and Reporting: Manage the data and evaluation tools to prepare quarterly Program’s dashboard reports, inform strategic decisions and drive improvements.

· Manage Budgets & Resources: Oversee program finances with fiscal discipline and strategic resource allocation. Work closely with Senior Accountant to track the master budget, support managers to track their budget, prepare monthly invoices and reports, and make decisions about projects’ expenses.

· Develop & Inspire Staff: Supervise Managers, providing them with the resources and guidance they need to lead their teams effectively. With support of HR consulting, administer the HR folders and ensure that Annual Performance Reviews are scheduled and held.

· Maintain Compliance & Risk Oversight: Ensure all programs adhere to legal, regulatory, and internal standards while managing resources responsibly.

· Build Partnerships & Amplify Mission: Serve as an external ambassador, cultivating relationships with funders, partners, and the broader community to expand Villa’s reach and impact.

· Optimize Performance: Review systems to track outcomes, measure success, and continuously improve program effectiveness in collaboration with the Managers.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, health, environmental studies, or a related field, plus at least five years of relevant experience in supervision and program management or nonprofit operations (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

· Proven leadership and staff management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and developing program teams.

· Experience translating strategic vision into actionable programs and overseeing day-to-day operations.

· Strong financial and resource management skills, including budgeting and fiscal oversight.

· Data-driven program evaluation experience; able to analyze outcomes and implement improvements.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging staff, leadership, funders, and community partners.

· Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism practices; experience working with diverse, multicultural communities.

· Adaptable, resourceful, and able to navigate changing organizational and programmatic needs.

Desired Qualifications:

· Master’s degree or advanced training in a relevant field.

· Experience managing complex, multi-program initiatives.

· Track record of community engagement and working with populations for whom English is not the primary language.

· Ability to integrate environmental, social, and community empowerment principles into programs.

· Strong strategic thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills.

· Commitment to fostering professional growth and a culture of excellence for self and team.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The typical work environment is a mix of in-office meetings, desk work, occasional traveling to and from events, and community engagement events, and conducting on-site staff training.
