Position Overview
The Cellar Worker is a hands-on role at the center of our winemaking operations. This position supports all stages of production—from fruit intake through fermentation, aging, and bottling—while also contributing to seasonal vineyard work throughout the growing season.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys physical work, values precision and cleanliness, and takes pride in being part of a team that produces high-quality wine.
What You’ll Do
In the Cellar
- Assist with grape receiving, sorting, crushing, and pressing during harvest
- Perform fermentation tasks including punch-downs, pump-overs, and monitoring fermentations
- Clean and sanitize tanks, barrels, and all winery equipment to strict standards
- Rack and transfer wine between vessels
- Support blending, fining, and filtration activities
- Assist with bottling line setup, operation, and breakdown
- Maintain clear and accurate production records
Equipment & Facility Care
- Maintain winery tools and equipment (hoses, pumps, presses, tanks)
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures
In the Vineyard (Seasonal)
- Assist with pruning, tying, shoot thinning, and canopy management
- Participate in harvest, including picking and fruit handling
- Support general vineyard upkeep and maintenance
- Operate basic vineyard tools safely and efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfort with physical, hands-on work in a production environment
- Mechanical aptitude is helpful but not required
Previous experience in a winery, brewery, or agricultural setting is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Physical & Seasonal Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Willingness to work long hours during harvest, including evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working in both indoor production environments and outdoor vineyard conditions
