Operations Manager
VIKTØS was launched in the fall of 2017 by a combined force of industry and military veterans; our mission is to produce innovative gear for the tactical user. Our product transcends the typical boundaries of conventional tactical companies and addresses the entire black gun lifestyle, from combat to training & everyday carry to R&R. It is a decidedly unique approach from a decidedly unique brand.
The Operations Manager is responsible for daily execution and improvement of service, inventory, and cost within tactical apparel & gear. The Operations Manager manages activities of those engaged in the movement of raw and finished materials, storage, production scheduling, and inventory control activities, including transportation, distribution, and logistics. This position is responsible to lead, manage, and facilitate short-term and long-range objectives related to the overall VIKTOS supply chain function. The Operations Manager also supervises and works in a hands-on role that will include daily planning/scheduling, procurement, and logistics management, along with budget planning, forecasting for space & order volume.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of all aspects of our Third-party logistics (3PL) and product import & procurement
- Manage warehousing & shipment, which includes freight forwarding direction & cost approval, brokerage/coordinate FF with CHR, track/expedite as needed & maintain tracking logs.
- Plan, forecast & report budgeting, inventory to include managing inventory levels and inventory turns and minimizing obsolescence, scrap, aged inventories, and inventory reserves by product & year.
- Manage VIKTOS purchasing team & sales team including monthly wholesale team meetings
- Attend and present at Quarterly Operations Meetings
- Develop and implement new, effective programs/policies for supplier, transportation, and logistics management.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly inventory & service reports.
- Accountable for departmental budget and project deliverables. Secure and allocate appropriate resources and manage projects to meet goals and achieve financial objectives.
- In conjunction with accounting, develop reporting format & detailed budget for performance & expenditures for the annual financial plans/budget, while identify effective cost reduction means & implement improvements.
- Provide invoice & PO Payment Approvals, schedule & approve PO invoice payments, advertising & contractor payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
- 9 years SML (Supply, Materials & Logistics) or related experience, with 5 year’s supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
- Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g., ELS, continuous flow, cellular etc.) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
- Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels and execution.
- Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, SQL, Oracle.
This is a full-time salaried position located in the VIKTOS Corporate Headquarters in Janesville Wisconsin.
