Systems Administrator – TS SCI w/Poly

VIKTech is seeking a Systems Administrator located in Columbia, Maryland. Applicants must be based in Maryland or willing to commute or relocate. Applications from candidates outside the area will not be considered.

Active TS/SCI FS required for all levels. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI FS. Applications from candidates without this clearance will not be considered.

The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Responsibilities:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the following: 

• Provides the technical management, operation, and maintenance of specialized and general Information Assurance systems in support of mission requirements. 
• Deploys or installs hardware and software, performs troubleshooting and user assistance. 
• Maintains user accounts, access control, and system / security configuration. 
• Maintains operating systems and configuration of computer systems and network devices. 
• Assists Government with creation of custom system environments for IA related system prototyping and development of system assessment/hardening techniques and usage of related IA software tools. 
• Manages file servers, web servers, email servers, directory servers, workstations, storage devices, network routing/switching devices, and firewalls, including physical and virtual instances of each.

Qualifications:

• Education:  A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Information Assurance/Cyber Security.  The position may be substituted for 4 years of experience in one or a combination of the following areas:
  • Systems Administration
  • Systems Integration 
  • Network Administration
  • Usage, maintenance and management of I A systems and tools 
• Working knowledge of several of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, Cisco IOS, Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, Disk SAN, server and network hardware and media (bladeservers, fiberchannel, and network cabling).
• Familiarity with system services such as web hosting, directory services, email services, and database services. 
• Clearance: TS/SCI FS
• Desired but not required: 
  • Working knowledge of Centos and RHEL Linux OS, and scripting.
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Working knowledge of automated configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt or Puppet. 
  • General understanding of SIEM technologies such as Elasticsearch or Splunk highly desirable but not required
