Viking Yacht Company, in business and under the same private ownership and management since 1964, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual to join our Facilities Maintenance team in New Gretna, New Jersey. This is an on-site, full-time, Monday-Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm) position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision care, prescription, life insurance, vacation (PTO), and matching 401(k). Salary range: $28-$40/hour, depends on experience.
Job Description:
· Maintain heating, cooling and ventilation equipment including split systems, chillers, packaged units, absorbers, cooling towers, gas-fired boilers, oil-fired unit heaters and refrigeration systems.
· Mentor & share knowledge with less experienced co-workers.
· Inspect, install and repair piping fixtures and equipment including traps, hand valves, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, lift pumps, vacuum pumps, circulating pumps, blowers and hot water heaters.
· Work on control systems and components associated with HVAC delivery systems.
· Complete preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as needed.
· Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems; test components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment.
· Work from ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, boom lifts and similar equipment.
· Experience with pipe threading using threading machine.
· Maintain records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), input work order entries, completions, requisitions, inventory.
· Keep material and parts inventory organized and stocked; work areas clean and neat.
· Inspect, install and repair piping fixtures and equipment including traps, hand valves, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, lift pumps, vacuum pumps, circulating pumps, blowers and hot water heaters.
· Interpret blueprints, sketches and job specifications.
· Install new equipment and work with other teams as needed.
· Assist in loading and unloading tools, materials, supplies and equipment.
· Work with and assist others as needed, including inspection, installation and repair of piping fixtures & equipment such as: traps, hand valves, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, lift pumps, circulating pumps, blowers & hot water heaters.
· Interface with mechanical / electrical / plumbing service contractors.
Requirements:
· Must be 18 or older.
· High School Diploma or Equivalent or combination of technical training and experience.
· At least 10 years of HVAC / Refrigeration repair experience. Leadership/foreman experience preferred.
· Proficiency of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards & safety precautions of the trade.
· Considerable knowledge of applicable building codes, rules and regulations (local, state and federal).
· Ability to work in various environments (manufacturing spaces, rooftops, outdoors, etc.)
· Must furnish own basic tools; specialty tools will be provided.
· Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Valid CFC/EPA Refrigerant Certification required.
· Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
· Some flexible hours may be required, including overtime for scheduled maintenance or emergency repairs.
