PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co-op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Student will participate in design projects to support Growth & Innovation, Global Distribution and Hygienic business segments. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate on cross-functional project teams. Support New Product Development, Value Engineering, & Derivative Product projects Create and Update models and drawings in SolidWorks Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system Other engineering projects as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major. OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENT: Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions. Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use. General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
