Key Responsibilities
- Lead and train warehouse staff across core functions: shipping, receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, and material handling
- Process and track transactions using RF scanners, pick tickets, and warehouse management systems
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and staging of outgoing shipments
- Audit inbound and outbound shipments to maintain accuracy and quality standards
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load/unload materials, including pipe and bulk items
- Coordinate daily with Customer Service and Fabrication teams to meet delivery timelines and service expectations
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and company policies
- Execute cycle counts and manage inventory accuracy, including backorder fulfillment
- Troubleshoot shipping/receiving discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Utilize systems such as JD Edwards, Varsity, and rate-shopping tools (e.g., Ratelinx) for logistics and shipping operations
- Coordinate freight logistics, including carrier selection, LTL shipments, and delivery scheduling (e.g., company trucks)
- Manage warehouse supplies, consumables, and minor facility maintenance needs
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership coverage and operational support in manager’s absence
