Role Description
This is a remote internship role for a Cyber Security Engineer Intern based out of Burlington, VT. The intern will assist in performing vulnerability assessments, security assessments, and testing of internet-connected radio devices according to the EN 18031 Stabdard series. Responsibilities include analyzing security systems, creating technical documentation, supporting system design reviews, and contributing to the development of secure software and hardware solutions. Additionally, the intern will participate in monitoring for security incidents and and assist providing recommendations to enhance cybersecurity policies.
Qualifications
Interest
- in Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing, and Risk Analysis
- Knowledge of Threat Modeling and Developing Secure System Designs
- Experience with Cybersecurity Tools and Techniques (e.g., scanning tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems)
- Familiarity with Software Development Practices and Secure Coding Principles
- Strong Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Communication Skills
- Interest in Cybersecurity Standards and Protocols, with a willingness to learn
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Prior exposure to compliance and certification processes is a plus
- Proximity to Burlington, VT or willingness to occaisonslly travel here is a plus.
Compensation
This is a paid internship role starting at $20/hr depending on experience level. Good fits will be given hiring priority for an entry level position once their degree is earned.
