Duties
- Operate wheel lift tow trucks to recover, load, and transport vehicles safely and securely.
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs to ensure tow truck readiness.
- Follow cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit and ensure safety on the road.
- Safely load and unload vehicles using manual transmission skills and mechanical knowledge of tow truck systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients during vehicle recovery or roadside assistance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, commercial driving regulations, and safety standards while operating heavy-duty trucks.
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics and minor automotive repairs when necessary to support fleet maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, car towing, or vehicle recovery towing with a valid driver’s license.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols, flatbed operations, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks.
- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly.
- Prior experience with automotive repair or mechanic work is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of manual transmission operation and mechanical systems for truck drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
