Job Title: IT Engineer

Shift: Full Time (40 hours per week average

Base Location: Lawrenceville, GA

Division/Department/Program: Business Operations (IT)

 

Under broad supervision, provides management information system user support on a continuing basis either by phone or site visit. Troubleshoots end-user problems. Analyzes and designs software modifications to meet users' needs. May develop and conduct training programs for software/hardware users. Owns assigned tasks. May serve as a lead or train staff.

 

Duties& Responsibilities:

  • Passionate about IT service delivery including privacy, security, and operations focus.
  • Communicate with users remotely and on-site (desktop support) to resolve technical issues and close support tickets.
  • Utilize very strong knowledge of Windows desktop troubleshooting to assist clients with connectivity, printing, customization, user profile, and applications.
  • Provide strong Microsoft Office 365 and Mobile Device troubleshooting to resolve client issues.
  • Utilize working knowledge and experience with Office 365/Exchange Online configuration and troubleshooting to support clients.
  • Configure, provision, and deploy new hardware, including laptops, printers, and network infrastructure.
  • Responsible for user account management in Active Directory, Exchange Online, and other platforms.  This includes creation, removal, changes, and password resets.
  • Utilize strong working knowledge of local and wide area networking (subnetting, routing, layer 2/3 operations), protocols, firewalls, Windows Server, and virtualization.  This includes knowledge and troubleshooting of DHCP, DNS, external name resolution issues, AD replication, and VPN.
  • Perform after-hours work as needed for on-site support, infrastructure and server maintenance, and circuit upgrades.
  • Serve as a point of escalation utilizing in-person and remote support engineering.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND six (6) months of education or experience in information security, privacy, system/network administration and support, or application development AND training and experience necessary to independently provide technical support to computer users in an assigned office/geographic area.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of related work experience in a broad spectrum of IT-related disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while producing high-quality results.
  • Ability to develop, follow, and adhere to defined processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be end-user focused, able/willing to provide over-the-top customer service, and be passionate about solving IT problems.

 

 

Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.

 

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
