Job Title:  Accounts Payable Technician – Accounting Department

Salary Range: $36,000 - $41,000 Annually

Shift:  First – Full-Time (40 hours per week on average)

Job Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Monday through Friday

Location: Lawrenceville, GA

The base location for this position is:  Lawrenceville, GA

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Technician is a member of the Accounting Team.  Under general supervision, this position performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related general accounting processes in a timely manner.  

Job Description:

• Receiving invoices (via paper and electronically) and processing accordingly
• Processing daily emails
• Answering vendor calls and emails and processing accordingly
• Processing allocation/breakdown of invoices
• Processing data entry
• Researching invoices and resolving any discrepancies or variances
• Preparing weekly completed check runs, including positive pay file, NACHA file, and EFT transfers
• Processing IRS 1099’s
• Filing and any other task required for full cycle Accounts Payable or as assigned by supervisor
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements/Competencies:

• Must be able to stand from a kneeling or sitting position without using your hands (Certification Requirement)
• Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, move about, hear and speak
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds
• Must be able to respond quickly to sounds
• Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy
• Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens
• Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities  

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Two year degree, preferably in accounting or business or experience in a related role.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
• Working knowledge of accounting systems.
• Strong work ethic and team player.
• High degree of professionalism.
• Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material.
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management and staff.
• Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task.
