Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Assist customers with locating grocery products and navigating store sections.
- Answer basic questions about product availability and merchandise placement.
- Stock shelves, displays, refrigerators, and designated product areas.
- Organize grocery items to maintain neat, accessible, and attractive displays.
- Receive, unload, unpack, sort, and organize merchandise deliveries.
- Check product packaging, expiration dates, and condition according to store procedures.
- Rotate inventory and remove damaged or expired products as required.
- Replenish shelves and communicate low-stock items to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain organized storage areas.
- Keep aisles, shelves, checkout areas, and workstations clean and orderly.
- Help maintain proper storage conditions for refrigerated and frozen products.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
- Support checkout operations and bag groceries when needed.
- Handle merchandise, equipment, and store supplies carefully.
- Help customers with product questions and direct specialized inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Report customer concerns, product issues, and supply shortages to supervisors.
- Assist with opening, closing, and general store maintenance tasks.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers to maintain efficient daily operations.
- Perform other grocery store duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous grocery store, supermarket, retail, stocking, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
