Inventory Control Clerk

Job Summary

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels and supporting efficient receiving and replenishment processes. This role ensures that popular gift items, seasonal merchandise, souvenirs and novelty products are always available for customers while minimizing shrinkage and overstock. The Inventory Control Clerk should also communicate other departmental needs and is responsible for organizing the stockrooms. Performs all duties of Retail Sales Associate as needed.

Job Description

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

• Ensures the Viejas guest service experience for guests by always maintaining the standards.
• Adheres to company and departmental policies and standard operating procedures, and applicable governmental laws and regulations.
• Receive, inspect and log incoming merchandise shipments from vendors and suppliers
• Assist with processing purchase orders, returns and transfers accurately in the inventory management system
• Conduct counts and physical inventories
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
• Maintain organized stockroom and back of house storage areas
• Monitor stock levels and generate reorders
• Update product information in the POS/inventory system
• Assist with seasonal inventory planning and holiday stocking
• Prepare inventory reports for management on stock status, shrinkage and turnover
• Identify and report damaged, expired or slow-moving items
• Support store with all duties needed.
• Performs other duties assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

EXPERIENCE

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience and or training preferred.

• Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work well under stress.
• Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change.
• Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Cash register skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, values teamwork, and self-motivated.
