Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist, Cheminformatics on Experimental Screening

We are seeking an experienced cheminformatics scientist to join our innovative drug discovery team focused on developing next-generation therapeutics. This is a unique opportunity to be a key contributor to our small but growing company. Your primary responsibility is to lead the computational aspects of our experimental screening. We conduct experimental screening with both mass spectrometry and NGS readouts, and you will be responsible for the computational pipelines that interpret those experimental results. Your cheminformatics skills will also be applied to other parts of the drug discovery process to directly support the progression of our programs. This is a hybrid position located in Watertown, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data processing pipelines for phage display (NGS readouts) and APMS screening (mass spectrometry readouts) and other screening technologies as we add them.
• Design and apply analysis methods on screening results, collaborating with medicinal chemistry colleagues for follow up compound selection.
• Design new combinatorial libraries, in collaboration with medicinal and analytical chemists, to further enhance our hit-finding capabilities.
• Build and apply tools for the analysis of our drug discovery data, including supporting SAR exploration and synthesizing experimental data and computational predictions to support decision making.

Job Requirements

• B.S. in Computational Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science (with a cheminformatic focus) or a related field with 6 years of Industrial experience, or Ph.D. (in the same fields) with 4 years of Industrial experience.
• Experience with developing and applying analysis of experimental library screening with either next gen sequencing or mass spectrometry readouts.
• Expertise in at least one cheminformatics platforms (e.g., RDKit, OpenEye) to run analyses such as clustering, chemical space diversity, featurization, and simple model building,
• Excellent Python skills.
• Experience with cloud-based computational infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud, is a plus.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, communicate effectively, and translate computational insights into actionable hypotheses.
